Once upon a time, there were a group of 20 warriors who decided to travel to a yet-to-be-determined location somewhere in the world. 10 of them perished along the way to the current point in the journey, but that's a story for another time.
Throughout the course of this long journey, the warriors encountered several games because evidently the gods noticed this would be the only way to keep them entertained. But with each game they played, one (and on a rare occasion, two) brave souls died as a direct result of these competitions. Along the way, friendships were made and pacts were formed to make sure they kept each other safe and that they didn't die during these challenges set before them by the gods. These pacts for the most part worked, until that fateful day when 10 remained.
One warrior, whose name was Gillian, already found her best friend in the journey, Chet, deceased four competitions prior. In order to keep herself safe, she forged a new bond with another fellow warrior. His name was Phillip. Most deemed his fashion sense... well, unpleasant on the eyes, but Gillian was able to look past this and see who was on the inside. The two hit it off immediately and vowed to look after each other until the very end of their journey.
However, the food supply was rapidly disappearing and the warriors were getting incredibly hungry. Thus, they were forced to agree that if they were not able to find nourishment by the end of the next inevitable game, they would have to eat one of their own so that they could continue on with their journey. Despite their valiant efforts to forage for food, their search was fruitless, and that in turn meant that they had to abide to their agreement.
Much discussion was made amongst the warriors as to who should be eaten: "Do we create conflict by eating one of the more liked warriors, or do we eat the person with the more plentiful offerings?" It was decided between Phillip and and Gillian that they would go for the one with the more plentiful offerings: this warrior's name was Jenna. To Phillip and Gillian's surprise though, all the other warriors started attacking Phillip without warning! Gillian was experiencing déjà vu, her best friend becoming a casualty once again!
Gillian became incredibly frustrated. She felt betrayed by her other warrior friends, particularly the one named Jimmy. She called him out and argued with him after he tried to save face with her and lie that he didn't attack Phillip, but to no avail. Gillian continued to present solid evidence that Jimmy was lying until he finally confessed. This caused Gillian to cut his jugular with words and she vowed that if the opportunity arose, she would get her revenge on Jimmy, no matter the cost.
