OK, I totally had to fudge that title lol. REGARDLESS
I'm pretty sure I have my mind made up tonight, but let's have a little comparison question for funsies yes? I'd like the three of you to compare the jury, the two people sitting next to you and yourself to first-boots on the actual TV series of Survivor. ;D

I think you all remind me of Tina Wesson. First boot in survivor all stars. You're all winners.

At this point Jimmy, not necessarily. So I'd suggest getting to my question instead of being difficult

I answered your question. You never said they had to be different people we compared everyone to.

Hey Gillian,
I'd like the three of you to compare the jury, the two people sitting next to you and yourself to first-boots on the actual TV series of Survivor.
This one's a tough one for me because I don't remember too many of the first boots... But here goes!
Misty - Wendy DeSmidt-Kohlhoff (Survivor: Nicaragua)
Wendy was voted out because she kept to herself and didn't give her tribe a chance to get to know her. Misty was also a pretty low-key player, and once the tribe switch happened, she was voted out because her new tribe wasn't willing to give her a chance to get to know her.
Lex - Sonja Christopher (Survivor: Borneo)
It seemed like Sonja's tribe had a lot of respect for Sonja as a person, but they knew she was physically a weak player and she would have been dead weight if they had to carry her through the game. I never knew Lex, but he seemed inactive and repeatedly cost his tribe challenges... yet his tribe still kept him over people who could have benefited their tribe a lot more.
Phillip - Marisa Calihan (Survivor: Samoa)
Marisa aligned herself with Russell, but she said the wrong thing to him at the wrong time. He turned around and betrayed his alliance, and Marisa was sent packing. In this game, apparently Phillip talked to Jimmy about voting out Julie (I don't know this for sure, I'm just going based on what Jimmy said in his answer to Phillip), and Jimmy turned around and backstabbed Phillip.
Anthony - Jonathan Libby (Survivor: Palau)
Jonathan was eliminated before his season even began. He was never voted out because he was eliminated before tribe selection. In this game, Anthony was removed by the host after self-voting.
Sarah - Francesca Hogi (Survivor: Redemption Island)
Francesca wanted to make a bold move in her season, but she went to the wrong person and they called her out in front of her tribe. That's pretty much what Sarah did. She wanted to take out Jimmy, but word got around to him. But ultimately it was Sarah's late vote that cost her the game.
Na Onka - Michelle Chase (Survivor: Gabon)
In Gabon, Michelle was the last one picked to be on her tribe (it was schoolyard style of choosing tribes). She was bitter about how things went down, and the tribe ended up voting her out first after she failed to put up a fight. In the double elimination round, Na Onka received quite a few votes. She came back angry and called out Jimmy for being a snake, but I think she could have fought a bit harder to stay in the game.
Gillian - Jonathan Libby (Survivor: Palau)
I know I already used this one, but I think it fits in this case too. Jonathan was never voted out; he just lost a challenge and never made it into the game. Gillian decided to join forces with Jimmy and Julie, and in the tie-breaker round, she chose to put her own safety on the line in order to keep Jimmy around -- even though she was partially gunning for him the round before. In the end, she was eliminated from the game due to a purple rock, not for receiving any votes.
Joel – Nicole Delma (Survivor: Pearl Islands)
Nicole was trying to strategize with her tribemates about who would be voted out, but the other castaways thought she was becoming too shifty and voted her out. Earlier in the game, Joel had been called out by Sarah for trying to organize a group to vote Sarah out, and then he sort of got a reputation for being a shifty player, playing all sides of the fence.
Jenna - Jessica deBen (Survivor: Fiji)
Jessica put her trust in her tribemates, but was completely blindsided. The vote was all over the place, with 4 different people receiving votes, and it was her that was sent packing. In this game, Jenna was blindsided by Julie. Julie told her she wanted to be with Jenna in the Finals, but then she flat-out voted against Jenna instead. And everyone that was eligible got a vote that round.
Jimmy - Jon "Jonny Fairplay" Dalton (Survivor: Fans vs Favourites)
Jonny Fairplay earned a bad reputation during the first time he played the game and went as far as lying about his grandma to get support from his tribemates. So when he returned for Fans vs Favourites, he was quickly voted out because people didn't trust him. Jimmy's game was all about lies, deception and backstabbing, and he admitted he did it out of boredom, not because he needed to. He gained a bad reputation after backstabbing Phillip, and he remained a target for the rest of the game.
Julie - Jessica "Sugar" Kiper (Survivor: Heroes vs Villains)
In Gabon, Sugar hid behind her alliance with Ace while Ace did all of the work. When she came back for Heroes vs Villains, she tried to use the same strategy by trying to hook up with Colby. In this game, Julie used Jimmy as a shield. He did all of the lying and backstabbing, and Julie just hid behind him knowing that no one would vote for her as long as Jimmy was still in the game.
Matty - Tina Scheer (Survivor: Panama)
Tina was a very strong competitor, and her outdoors experience gave her an edge where people wanted to keep her around. Unfortunately, she spoke to freely about how the rest of the tribe wasn't pulling their weight, and ended up in the minority. I think I was one of the strongest competitors in this game, but I was never afraid to do what I wanted to do, even if it meant voting against the majority. It was a risky move on my part, but I'm still standing here with Tweedledee and Tweedledum in the Finals.
Good luck with your vote, Gillian!

Jimmy's game was all about lies, deception and backstabbing, and he admitted he did it out of boredom, not because he needed to. He gained a bad reputation after backstabbing Phillip, and he remained a target for the rest of the game. You're right about one thing. My game was all lies and deception. One lie was the fact that I did it out of boredom. I painted myself a huge target intentionally. It was to distract people from what was really going on so me, Jenna, and Julie could carry you close enough to the end where you had a shot. You might be sitting next to Tweedledee and Tweedledum. But the only reason you're sitting next to Tweedledee and Tweedledum is because we brought you along far enough for Joel to backstab us and ruin the plan to take you out after the Sword and Shield challenge. The goal was to make sure you didn't win immunity and take you out. If Joel had not messed it up, he would have been final 4 for sure.

Just a sidenote to set the record straight AGAIN In this game, Jenna was blindsided by Julie. Julie told her she wanted to be with Jenna in the Finals, but then she flat-out voted against Jenna instead. And everyone that was eligible got a vote that round.
Jenna and i talked and she knew i didn't want to vote Jimmy. She told me if i needed to vote her to tell her. She knew that was a real possibility. Matty had told her he was voting Jimmy and Jenna was voting Jimmy. Being torn between my two alliances, I did what I thought was best and voted Jenna will Jimmy to FORCE A TIE, then they could duke it out in a tie-breaker. If Matty had actually voted the way he TOLD JENNA he was going to (Jimmy)... our two votes would NOT have taken Jenna out.. Of course, Matty feels completely blameless in this.. which is funny, because had he voted the way he said he would have, Jenna would NOT have been automatically on the jury..

Oh, and PS) Julie just hid behind him knowing that no one would vote for her as long as Jimmy was still in the game. What?? That statement doesn't even make sense. I hid behind nobody. I was completely in the open. And of course, our social game was great because Jimmy and I are still here. Nobody managed to get him out and yet we managed to get everyone out that was a threat to our plan

HI Gillian, I'd like the three of you to compare the jury, the two people sitting next to you and yourself to first-boots on the actual TV series of Survivor. I agree with Matty, that this is harder than comparing the jury with any player of survivor since first boots rarely got a chance to show us what they were really made of. I think for the most part Matty did the work for us, and pegged people fairly well, although his reasoning is a little flawed and slanted. I don't see the point in going through all the seasons of survivor and re-watching the first episodes to remember all of the first boots at all. I will agree that Matty did a good job on them, and only add my personal comments. I don't think this is a copout.. you know me too well for that, but it would have much more of an impact at this point to do any survivor. So, I will put my comments below. Misty - Wendy DeSmidt-Kohlhoff (Survivor: Nicaragua) Wendy was voted out because she kept to herself and didn't give her tribe a chance to get to know her. Misty was also a pretty low-key player, and once the tribe switch happened, she was voted out because her new tribe wasn't willing to give her a chance to get to know her. They voted her out because she was the next logical vote, being a transplant and alliances were pretty much set by this point, not because they didn't get to know her. Even if they had talked to her and really liked her, it made more sense to vote a Klimbono over a Lantwan. I didn't find out from Jenna until votes were in that Jenna and Misty were close and would have been very useful to us.
Lex - Sonja Christopher (Survivor: Borneo) It seemed like Sonja's tribe had a lot of respect for Sonja as a person, but they knew she was physically a weak player and she would have been dead weight if they had to carry her through the game. I never knew Lex, but he seemed inactive and repeatedly cost his tribe challenges... yet his tribe still kept him over people who could have benefited their tribe a lot more. Lex was not a weak player at Outcast. He worked his ass off and won there. He would vote any way I asked him to vote, so of course we were going to keep him over NaOnka or Philip, who we couldn't trust not to flip. Things worked out well in challenges regardless because I was able to accomplish things when Lantwan was at TC that were necessary to ensure our victory after the merge. Phillip - Marisa Calihan (Survivor: Samoa) Marisa aligned herself with Russell, but she said the wrong thing to him at the wrong time. Yes, Phillip opened his mouth and tipped his hand, and Jimmy and I took care of the problem, but there really wasnt' the backstabbing that has been discussed. Phillip wasn't in our post merge alliance at all. It was Jenna, Matty, Jimmy and myself, and for a 5th, Joel. We needed to make sure we had a "Majority voting block" regardless of where we were in the game. Phillips cockiness is what got him voted out. Even he admits that.Anthony - Jonathan Libby (Survivor: Palau) Jonathan was eliminated before his season even began. He was never voted out because he was eliminated before tribe selection. In this game, Anthony was removed by the host after self-voting. I disagree with this one, because Anthony and I talked a lot on AIM about strategy and game play and I know he was very much into the game and so self-voting out of the game was very much "unlike" his natural persona. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but I would venture to say it was his persona life. So, saying because Jonathan was eliminated before tribe selection . . inaccurate in my opinion. Sarah - Francesca Hogi (Survivor: Redemption Island) Francesca wanted to make a bold move in her season, but she went to the wrong person and they called her out in front of her tribe. That's pretty much what Sarah did. She wanted to take out Jimmy, but word got around to him. But ultimately it was Sarah's late vote that cost her the game. Sarah wasn't timid at all about wanting people out. First, she wanted Joel out when she found out that I knew Joel was targeting her for the boot when I sent her to Outcast. She mentioned to someone (i cannot remember who) that she wanted me gone (which pissed me off since I saved her ass) and so Jimmy and I had to start the plan to get rid of her. She was vocal about her feelings towards Jimmy, but the end results would have been the same. Anyone who mentioned getting rid of me, we immediately put into motion the plan to get them out. Na Onka - Michelle Chase (Survivor: Gabon) In Gabon, Michelle was the last one picked to be on her tribe (it was schoolyard style of choosing tribes). She was bitter about how things went down, and the tribe ended up voting her out first after she failed to put up a fight. In the double elimination round, Na Onka received quite a few votes. She came back angry and called out Jimmy for being a snake, but I think she could have fought a bit harder to stay in the game. NaOnka has ZERO chance of staying in this game, once we decided it was her time to go. I actually wanted her gone before she was, but she trusted Jimmy, so she was useful to us in the long run. She played the game with her emotions which was good for us, bad for her. She was a wicked competitor as well, so we couldn't let her get to merge. Gillian - Jonathan Libby (Survivor: Palau) I know I already used this one, but I think it fits in this case too. Gillian made the only move she could in the game after getting continually fucked over. She aligned with Jimmy and I and we all were willing to go to purple rock because Jenna refused to vote off Matty. All of us were willing to vote Matty except Joel and Jenna (Who had a secret alliance.. hmmm) Actually, Matty should have been voted off when Chet was but I wasn't aware of how much he was going to be carried by Jenna at the time.. Hindsight.. >.< Gillian really is a smart cookie and when we talked strategy, I was always upfront with her and I never lied to her once. She made the best decision based on the information she had and knowing which alliance she had a better chance of going all the way with. I admire how she refused to go out with out kicking and screaming.Joel – Nicole Delma (Survivor: Pearl Islands) Nicole was trying to strategize with her tribemates about who would be voted out, but the other castaways thought she was becoming too shifty and voted her out. Earlier in the game, Joel had been called out by Sarah for trying to organize a group to vote Sarah out, and then he sort of got a reputation for being a shifty player, playing all sides of the fence. Joel wasn't shifty at all, he was indecisive. He repeatedly said he ONLY wanted to make jury and he was SCARED of making the finals. He couldn't make a good decision to save his life when presented ALL the facts. (As evident with the purple rock). He did play us though, being secretly aligned with Jenna, which, when i called him out on it, said "This is news to me".. um, yea right. He was a ball less player in my opinion. Jenna - Jessica deBen (Survivor: Fiji) Jessica put her trust in her tribemates, but was completely blindsided. Once again, for Matty who appears to be unable to accept his role in Jenna's demise, he wasn't honest with Jenna who he was voting for. He KNEW that I would vote with Jimmy. End of story. I wanted a tie.. he risked her being in the game, just so I would have a "battle scar". Really? She was backstabbed by Matty, her alliance, not me. Matty knew what was going to happen when he voted me. So, yes, Jenna was betrayed by an alliance, but not the way Matty tells the story. ********************************************************** MY OWN ANSWERS Jimmy - Nicole Delma NICOLE was thought of as dishonest and untrustworthy and was voted out because of it. Jimmy is thought of as dishonest and untrustworthy, but he really isn't. He stayed true to his one true alliance in this game (me) and trusted me with Jenna I trusted Jenna with Matty. There is an appearance that Jimmy did my dirty work only because of the fact that I was on Klimbono and he was on Lantwan. The end result was the same, but we each had different responsibilities due to the tribe we were on and the people who trusted us. Julie - Tina Wesson Tina was a great competitor and a nurturer. She had the ability to get people to open up to her as did I. She was considered a threat in All-Stars, so they booted her early. I competed hard in this game and I also never gave up even when the cards were stacked against me... I used my social skills and established relationships with almost everyone on both tribes. I was determined, just as Tina was to play this game to the best of my ability and I think i did just that.Matty - Johnny Fairplay I think Matty played like Johnny Fairplay only not as flamboyantly as Jon did. He had Jenna convinced he would vote with her and never vote her out, yet he flipped at the end, causing her to be voted out since he KNEW I was voting for her and not Jimmy. Laying low for the first part of the game and aligning with Jenna and then winning immunities and basically voting on his own, while telling his alliance he was voting with them.. Those are all lies that Jon would do. I wish I could think of a player who was first booted, who fit even better.. but Matty lasted til the end thanks to Jimmy, myself and Jenna and he really didn't do much strategically in the game. Winning immunities, big deal.. try winning a game without them.. it's tougher and I have done it... From what I can see, Matty is good at one thing.... other than getting Jenna to refuse to vote him out, and that is his ability to answer jury questions. I will give him credit.. he does have a flair with the words, but it doesn't make it true. Jimmy and I have had to keep setting the record straight. He spins things in just a little bit of a way to make it appear different, just as Jon did.
Gillian, it was a pleasure playing with you in the end. I enjoyed our talks and us strategizing together and trying to figure out what option was our best option. I love how you were just strong and opinionated and "kept it real" with me. You KNOW I did with you. I never lied to you once. I saved you.. you know it. Unfortunately the host had a damn purple rock in the game (which i still think it incredibly stupid and ick... come on... tie breaker challenge... like on the real show. . puleeze) Jimmy, you and I all took a risk for what we believed in...

I agree with you, Julie. Some of my answers weren't perfect matches. But like I said, it's hard to compare people in this game to people who were booted first from their season, because most of them didn't get much air time and weren't on the show long enough to develop much of a strategy. A lot of them I don't even remember. But that's the question Gillian asked, and I tried my best to find one or two points that I could match people on. They weren't always perfect matches, I was just looking for some similarities to compare them on. I do agree with a lot of the details you added in your answers, though. You're wrong about your take on how Jenna was voted out though. I did not tell her that I was voting for Jimmy. I told her that I was leaning towards voting for you because I saw you as a bigger threat than Jimmy. She said she couldn't vote for you because you and her had an alliance. I never told her, though, that I was going to vote for Jimmy. And the round before that, Jenna had told me the that the only reason she was considering voting for Joel was because you had promised her you would take her to the Final 3, and you had said you only ever wanted to make Final 4 with Jimmy. So I did not know that you would be voting for Jenna. Neither you, Jenna nor Jimmy told me how you (Julie) were voting. I knew Jenna and Jimmy were voting for each other, but from what Jenna told me the previous round, I figured you were voting for Jimmy too. I wish I could think of a player who was first booted, who fit even better.. but Matty lasted til the end thanks to Jimmy, myself and Jenna and he really didn't do much strategically in the game. And really? Jenna definitely helped me get to the end, just as much as she helped you and Jimmy get to the end. But you and Jimmy have absolutely nothing to do with why I made it to the Finals. I earned immunity 4 of the last 5 rounds, and the only time I was vulnerable was at the Final 6, when both you and Jimmy voted against me. You can't vote for somebody, and then take credit for them still being here. So you certainly had nothing to do with me making it from the Final 7 to the Final 3... And you didn't save me at all prior to the Final 7. You guys were just too focused on taking out people who were actively campaigning against you, that you didn't even see me as a target.
